Scientists around the globe are trying their best to come up with more effective ways of treating heart failure. However, in the words of top cardiologist, Dr. Chauncey Crandall; there is a widely available old drug, but the effectiveness of such drug has been ignored for years by doctors.
That drug is aldactone, says Dr. Crandall, MD which dates back to the 50s. He says that this drug is capable of extending or adding years to the life of heart patients. Congestive heart failure remains one of the leading health problems that people are struggling with today, and it is also one of the biggest causes of death.
Apart from this, congestive heart failure is one of the reasons for people having to be hospitalized repeatedly, in the US. This is what Dr. Crandall, the author of Amazon’s #1 best seller medical book; ‘the Simple Heart Cure’ has to say.
From his own experience as a heart specialist, Dr. Crandall has seen this old diuretic work wonders for his patients. He says although it is not necessary that the drug would offer instant results, but over a period of time, it can work wonders for heart failure patients.
Aldactone was developed in 1957 for the purpose of reducing the aldosterone hormone, which is produced by the adrenal glands. This hormone is produced by the body for balancing blood pressure. The adrenal gland in people who suffer from heart failure, starts producing too much of aldosterone which eventually damages the heart.
One of the articles published by the New England Journal of Medicine in 1999, said that this drug has reduced the death rate caused by heart failures, by 30%
